I remember the day I discovered Rebecca Minkoff and the MAB. It was a hot, sticky, summer day, and I was aimlessly floating about Bendels, happy to be in the AC. Of course, I found myself in the handbag room. Like a magnet, I was drawn to a display of gorgeous leather bags. The sales woman informed me that these bags had just arrived, and were from a brand new New York designer, Rebecca Minkoff.
Maybe it was the fact that she was a New York based designer (we always love the hometown hero), or maybe it was the simplicity of the bag, the richness of the colors, or the humorous name, but I instantly fell in love with Rebecca Minkoff and the morning after bag. The leather was supple, the hardware shiny… And my favorite part, it was a bag I could guarantee no one on my college campus would own (people at my school just don’t care about fashion).
I was sold. My MAB has been with me on many adventures, both good and bad, but my MAB has become a part of me. If I show up at Sunday brunch with a different handbag, my friends are immediately thrown, and ask where Rebecca is. A handbag, more than any other accessory is deeply personal. It sees everything that you put in it, the little bits and pieces that make up your life. So naturally, I feel a somewhat personal connection to Rebecca Minkoff and her deeply fabulous handbags. Lately, her bags have gone from indie to mainstream, and I could not be happier 🙂 After all, everyone should experience the best morning after in the world!
Karl gets downsized.
Not really of course. But this holiday season the larger than life Kaiser and Prince of Fashion has been shrunken to fit in every fashionistas stocking. But really… a Karl Lagerfeld finger puppet? What a fabulous idea.
These felt Karls are being sold for $20 – recession friendly compared to the $1500 Karl teddy bear! I know I’ll be picking up quite a few for my fashion forward friends. Order now in time for Christmas – They will be mailed on December 8th.

If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with OPI. I must own at least three shades from each collection, or else. I love the themes, and the names always crack me up! The latest collection, Holiday in Toyland is utterly fabulous, and perfect for all of those holiday themed cocktail parties we will be busy with for the next month….
Today I picked up…
Sheer Your Toys … a darker version of one of my all time favs, Moon Over Mumbai. I have a feeling this will be this season’s go-to everyday shade when I just need a quick, no fuss manicure.
Brand New Skates is absolutely PERFECT for the fun nights that lie ahead… it’s the perfect compliment to a sequined black top for a night out, or your favorite LBD for a classy holiday cocktail party, yet it isn’t harsh like the black trend that we have FINALLY seen fade (unless your LC). I love it, and I’m wearing it as I type!
Don’t Toy With Me is a glamed up version of classic red, which can get boring around this time of year. I’m not a fan of red nail polish, so this is such a great alternative. It’s a little bit darker and more sophisticated, and the sparkle definitely makes it unique! It’s seriously gorgeous…Just looking at it puts me in holiday cheer mode!
Seams to me with OPI got it right with their latest collection, Holiday in Toyland. Then again…they always do 🙂

I figured for my first post, I would just let all of you know who it is exactly that I am obsessed with. I truly love fashion, but there are a few designers that I can NEVER get enough of… and of course, I will try to blog about fashion I DISLIKE as well, but I’m sure you’ll be reading a lot about….
1. PHILLIP LIM. He is my main obsession of the moment. I’ve been borderline stalking his career (well not really) since I came across this beautiful tunic of his in a boutique three years ago. And I am THRILLED (that’s a gross understatement) that he has been so successful and truly is the next huge thing in fashion. Redefining American sportswear one beautiful piece at a time. I have nothing but love for Phillip (we’re on a first name basis).
2. Marc Jacobs. MJ is the man… and quite frankly, NO ONE can do what he does. Sometimes, he sends utter chaos down the runway, and it just works. It always does. He’s a true artist, and the ONE person whose brain I would love to spend a day inside. I can’t help but love everything that he does, and he is the only man who can get away with wearing a skirt.
3. Rodarte. In two years, these two sisters have done the unthinkable. After a week in New York, all the major editors and buyers in the fashion industry had seen their collection. Their pieces are very 1940s Paris, with romantic touches that I can’t help but adore. When I see the intricate beading, pale chiffon, and hand stitching, I get the sensation that these girls can read my mind. Everything is just downright beautiful.
4. Karl Lagerfeld. No description necessary. If you know fashion, you know why we all admire this man.
It seams to me like you’ll be hearing a lot more about these fashion geniuses in the future 🙂
